Navkiran Mann- Event Producer
Navkiran Mann is a broadcaster, digital film-maker, producer, writer and poet.
She produces inspirational stories with communities for the BBC. Her latest digital film on social activism has had almost a million views. She has been a BBC producer for BBC News Channel, Radio 4, Asian Network and World Service. She produced the BBC’s Outlook program on the BBC World Service where she broadcast inspiration stories from across the globe including the Nobel Peace Prize winner to an audience of 50 million.
She was also a facilitator and mentor on the BBC’s Unreported development scheme working with under 25 year old Black and Asian women who are under-represented at the BBC to empower them to fulfill their visions of working in the media.
She is currently works as producer at the City of Culture 2021 where she initiated, developed and co-created “The Foleshill Map” https://coventry2021.co.uk/foleshill-mile-map-launched/ working with 21 community groups. She was also a producer on the hugely successful Carnival of Lights: https://coventry2021.co.uk/carnival/ producing the popular lantern procession co-creating with local communities.
Previously she was the General Manager of Radio Plus Radio station as creative lead, overseeing all on live air programming, staff development and technical operations.
She is bilingual and speaks fluent Punjabi and English and is training to be a mentor for the Positive Youth Foundation working as part of their Stay Safe strategy.
